Located at the base of Boulder’s majestic Flatirons and one of only 21 National Historic Landmarks in the state of Colorado, Chautauqua Park is home to the famous Flatirons trail system.
Move your team onto the trails for the Chautauqua Orienteering Team Challenge! Intensely collaborative, fast-paced, highly strategic and competitive, teams race to locate flags strategically set throughout the trail system. It is up to each team to plot the most efficient course and earn the most performance points. Intentionally, there are too many flags to find within the official race period. Teams must choose wisely. It is not the fastest teams that earn the most points; it’s the smartest teams!

Teams huddle up at the start area ready to hit the trails. The rules are revealed and teams jump into action to develop a strategy that will earn the most performance points. It is up to the team to prioritize; plot a course of travel; tap into each team members strengths and skills; and multi-task to navigate to as many point earning opportunities as possible.

Teams hit the trails geared up with team backpacks, supplies, and team bandannas. Flags have been strategically planted throughout the Chautauqua trail system. There are too many flags to locate within the designated race time – so teams must choose wisely!

Teams race to the finish! An action debrief ties together key takeaways about teamwork and collaboration under the pressure of time.
Awards
Teams anxiously wait for the judges to tally the points. The nail biting finish has teams on the edge of their seats while the results are announced. The winners are?!
Post Program
The best of the best team photos are delivered in a highly engaging music/photo slideshow. Creativity is rewarded so be prepared to laugh out loud!
Requirements & Logistics
The Chautauqua Orienteering Team Challenge kicks off at the historic Chautauqua Park located at the base of the majestic Flatirons.
Picnic shelters, Chautauqua Dining Hall, Chautauqua grounds, or the many historic meeting cottages are the perfect locations to kick off the program. The race course is customized to the timeframe you have allocated to ensure maximum engagement and performance.
End with a catered lunch, dinner, or at the Chautauqua Dining Hall. Corporate Teams customizes an experience that meets your team requirements start to finish.
